Kim is a Level 1 MTB coach with plenty of coaching experience. Kim has also been a level 2 triathlon coach for over 15 years, as well as over 30years of teaching Health & Physical Education.
Kim took up mountain biking in the late 90’s however really got serious in 2004 when she started competing in multisport events and Adventure Racing. Kim thus also took to racing as solo or teams in many MTB events in SEQ, mostly for training, but has had podium finishes in elite events such as the Epic. Kim recognises that women are naturally more cautious riders and want to learn how to ride safely and skilfully, rather than just do it.
Kim also recognises that some women want to take that step from being a confident rider to an experienced rider, so can provide the skills and extra challenges to help women achieve this.
Initially the program will revisit some essential mountain biking skills and familiarise riders with the extensive range of MTB trails and connecting pathways to access these trails. Riders will then be introduced to more challenging sections of trail which will require a more advanced skill set, thus part of the sessions will focus skill and part on further developing the fitness and endurance to keep enjoying the trails .
The Noosa area and hinterland has an extensive trail & path network that not only showcases the beauty of the region but also provides accessibility to many safe places to ride. There are many community cycling events happening on the Sunshine Coast and SEQ that will provide a fantastic goal for you participate in and achieve in the months following the program
