First Principles Coaching is a one-coach business which focuses on both road cycling coaching and strength & conditioning for road cycling fitness & performance as well.
First Principles Coaching is run by Adelaide local, Margaret Boylan. Margaret coaches women of all ages and abilities who want to have fun on their bikes while improving their fitness, skills and confidence. She Rides On is proud to partner with First Principles Coaching in a venture that will increase the opportunities for women of Adelaide to ride recreationally in an environment that is social, inclusive and diverse.
She Rides On Training for a Time Trial Powered By First Principles Coaching is a 6 week program starting on Saturday 17th August 2019. The group will meet weekly on Saturday Morning for an outdoors ride. This will be 7.30am for the first two of the sessions to be held in Adelaide. And at 8.30am for the other four sessions which will be held at Williamstown in the Adelaide Hills. The Program caters for graduates of the She Rides Together Program & is limited to 8 riders. Margaret will have the assistance of second coach Sharlene Harding for this program.
The Australian Masters Games are going to be held in Adelaide in early October 2019. Amongst the cycling events is an Individual Time Trial. This program will take Program members through preparing for this event & will include event specific training in the area around Williamstown in the Adelaide Hills, as that is where the proposed 20 km course is. Participants should note that this will require some car travel to Williamstown at their own cost. On the days that this training in Williamstown is planned the start time has been adjusted to take account of the travel time.
The Program will also include off-bike strength & conditioning work & information.

The start place will vary each session but will be in the Eastern Suburbs for the first two sessions & at Williamstown for the last 4 sessions. They will also depend of course on the weather on the day of each session.
All She Rides On participants must hold a Cycling Australia Ride Basic, Ride + or Race membership in order to participate in any She Rides On program. To join, please visit the Cycling Australia Membership Page.
All participants must wear helmets in good condition & displaying the AS/NZS 2063 standard sticker.
The program has been specifically designed for graduates of the She Rides Together program.
Participants should be She Rides Together graduates and must use a road bike & clipped in pedals. Although the program is about Time Trialling, the training will include group riding so it isn’t suitable for bikes with Time Trial bars.
