I am a working Mum with two teenage boys working as a scientist 4 days a week keeping Tasmania free from animal diseases. I have always loved the outdoors and first took up mountain biking as something we could do as a family. As my kids got a bit older, I found another side to it where I could enjoy time for me, head-space and fun with friends.
I am passionate about women’s riding and want to be a good role model, to show others that absolutely anyone can ride. I am now in my third year of teaching riding skills and in my second year with She-rides and I have absolutely loved supporting and encouraging women to ride with confidence. Yes confidence and lots of it! I love teaching and competing and am look forward to teaching another wonderful confidence session and meeting new riders this She Rides season. She Rides is a wonderful avenue for women to find confidence and learn the skills to get on their bikes – let’s go ladies!
Can you ride a bike but don’t have the skills to ride the mountain bike trails with confidence? Do you feel the need to let out your inner adventurous spirit? Do your partner or children ride but you can’t keep up? Then this program is for you! Come and join our supportive small group lessons where all your questions can be answered and you worries turned into skills.
This course starts by helping you set up your bike just for you, then moves onto getting your balance and maneuvering. We then tackle some slopes and obstacles, get used to the body positions needed for smooth cornering and finally have some fun on single trails where your new found confidence will let you have the time of your life. Added to this, the friends you develop along the way will support and encourage you as we do these things together.
By the conclusion of the program you have the confidence to ride with friends and be enjoying the freedom, fun and challenge of mountain biking!
